Wine, Cheese, & Chocolate Update
Not much change in potential income since last week.  We have no additional auction items or other income, though some are soon to come.

Live and Silent Auction Items Needed . . . We have only 5 auction items valued at $3350 including a couple of valuable live auction items, but many, many more are needed.  The time is now to begin contacting those people you led to give last year.  We have less than 10 weeks before our event and it's time to get those sponsorships and auction items.  It's GO time!

Selling Tickets is very easy!  Go to our event website, or to our club webpage to sell/buy tickets.  Please focus on selling electronic tickets whenever possible.  (See Chris for paper tickets if needed.)

This is the last week to buy early-bird discounted tickets. Beginning April 1 the single ticket price goes up to $50. Purchases of 2-9 tickets will be $45 each, and 10 or more tickets will be $40 each.

We still need volunteers to begin gathering donated gift cards (no volunteers yet).  Visit those stores you normally frequent and tell them about our event.  Ask for donated gift cards and coupons.  These can bring in extra cash in our live auction!  Contact Chris if you're able to help.

Less than 8 weeks left!!!
Our goals for the event are very attainable if we all pitch in!

District Literacy Conference

As many of you know, I am also our District Literacy Chairperson, and I want to invite you and/or a club representative to attend this year's District Literacy Conference on March 30 at DU (see attached flier for details; you can register on the district website). There are outstanding speakers who will expose you to different areas of literacy in very engaging 20-minute presentations. These speakers are likely to inspire your club to take a new direction in literacy and education, one of the 6 areas of focus in Rotary, or connect you with a great speaker for your future club meetings!

We have planned for at least one representative from your club at this conference. The facilities we use are top-notch, and the food we serve is excellent. For those very far away or a small club, perhaps your Area can send one or two representatives. There will be time available to network with other clubs on your literacy projects as well.

Improved literacy and education changes lives in so many ways here and around the world!  Use this conference to discover new and interesting approaches to literacy to make this difference in the world.

Thanks, in advance, for your support of this District initiative.

Yours in Rotary,
Karen Loeb

District Conference Coming!

A reminder to attend--if at all possible, the District Celebration on Saturday April 27th at the Arvada Center.  The celebration is an excellent way to recharge sagging Rotary batteries, get to meet other Rotarians, see what clubs and the district are doing locally and world wide, and to just enjoy some great company and awesome speakers.  The cost is $125 for the day, including meals; you can also elect to attend only a half day--either morning or afternoon--for $75.  there will also be a social gathering the evening before at the Center--pure fun and camaraderie.  Partners/spouses are also welcome to attend.  Please see the District's website (rotary5450.org) for further details and to register.

The club will cover as much as $250 of the cost for 2 club members and guest.  Get your name on the list by contacting Jo or Ron as soon as possible (first come first served).
