WHY I JOINED?  WHY I STAY?

I joined Rotary because of the overall reputation Rotary has. Rotary clubs are known for giving back to their communities and I wanted to be a part of that.

I stay because of the incredible people that make up the Niwot Rotary Club. I’ve found that any member will help me if I have a question or need something. Each person contributes in their own way giving me a very broad spectrum of experience. I have built friendships in the last year that I will carry with me no matter where I am or club I belong to.

I joined The Rotary Club of Niwot to engage with generous, intelligent, fun-loving people who work to make positive contributions in our community and world.

I stay because of the friendships I’ve made, the regular exposure to interesting speakers, the connection our club has to supporting the students in our community, and the opportunity we all have to get involved with meaningful community service projects.  Rotarians have a “can-do” spirit.  I appreciate the leverage that can be gained when Rotary Clubs team up to solve problems and address community needs.  With Rotary, the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts.

I joined because of the 4-way test, an opportunity to give service, and to make new friends in my community.

I stayed because of all of the above. There is great “energy” and commitment in this club. It’s fun and the people are lovely.

Rotary's reputation for "service above self" has always resonated with me.  I have a real passion for building a stronger, more compassionate community amd helping to provide essential support to vulnerable populations.  I've followed Niwot Rotary's work for some time, and its commitment to undertaking pressing issues like domestic violence and clean water is inspiring to me.

I joined to become closer to the community of Niwot -- the people and the activities. Upon moving to Colorado, I had been working and associating with co-workers or CU people. After becoming an independent contractor after 2000, I wanted to connect with the people and services in Niwot nearer to where I Lived. I wanted to get into Community volunteering locally.

I stay in Rotary to keep involved in community activities and volunteering. I like to see my efforts benefit Niwot, and a variety of community and social organizations in Niwot and south Longmont.

I joined Rotary to give back to the community in a meaningful way. Being part of an organization that actively supports local causes and invests in people gives me a real sense of purpose.

What keeps me here is the camaraderie and shared values among members. It’s more than just service—it's a network of people I genuinely enjoy working with, who are all committed to making a difference.

I joined Rotary at the request of my two old friends.  One was the Chairman and CEO of a Pharma Company here in Boulder who was a member of one of the new Boulder Clubs that he helped start.  Another old friend out in California helped do the same with a new Rotary Club serving as President and Foundation Chair several times. The idea of giving back to the community and people in need was a quality and behavior taught and followed by my parents. They were both involved in service clubs in their lives for as long as I can remember.

I was lucky to become the Charter President of the Boulder Flatirons Club.  I actually served two times as President as well as forming and serving as the Foundation Chair.  While I was a member of the Flatirons Club, I was given the opportunity (along with two other club members) to look at starting a “new” club in the Boulder Metro area.  Niwot was the perfect place and choice as a number of Boulder County Business and key Community Members lived in Niwot and were involved in-part for the Niwot growth over the last 25 yers.  Our first house in Colorado was also in Niwot and we fell in love with the community and what it stood for!  We now live in Berthoud, about 25 miles North of Niwot, but my reason to stay with the Niwot Rotary Club is because I love the members and their commitment to making the Niwot Club one of fellowship, fun and giving back to the community.

Why I joined: I joined when I moved to Longmont in 2015 as a means to make friends and build connections with the community.

Why I stay:  I enjoy the camaraderie. I've made good friends with good people.
